Immigrating to America from Brazil at an early age, the inspirations behind his work are the by-products of his surrounding urban environment. His culturally diverse perspectives provide viewers a look into his complex mind.

 

His personal iconography “Forced Grin” can be viewed in reoccurrences as symbolism for human beings' nature to fool one another by faking their current emotion. The act of forcing a smile to one another in an attempt to control the public perspective of self.

 

His distinctive style is a sophisticated composition of bold colors and aggressive lines. Both elegant and restrained, his work pays respect to influences such as Basquiat, De Kooning, Philip Guston, Hans Hofmann, Kaws & Eddie Martinez.
